It is more effective at inhibiting tyronsinase and tyrosine than other brightening agents, which obstructs the production of the skin-darkening agent, melanin. Suitable for all skin types, it is less prone than other AHA\u2019s to negative side effects such as redness and swelling, burns, or scabbing.\u00a0 Mandelic acid is also useful for protecting the skin and reducing redness and swelling following laser therapies. It can be applied one or two weeks following the procedure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By inhibiting the activity of tyronsinase and tyrosine, mandelic acid prevents the formation of melanin in the skin while also gently metabolizing dark spots and blotches. The acid works deep into the skin to remove excess keratin, improve skin brightness, even out the complexion, and lighten the appearance of surface-level moles and wrinkles.
